ACE’s Strategic Initiatives
In the forum, Prof. Dr. Muchlas Samani announced two important steps of ACE:
1.) Establishment of a Consortium of Accreditation Agencies of Islamic Countries
The initiative aims to strengthen collaboration between accreditation agencies in Islamic countries to develop quality assurance standards that are relevant to local scientific and cultural values. “This consortium will be a forum for sharing best practices and strengthening the position of Islamic countries in the global accreditation map,” Muchlas said.
2.) Cooperation with HEEACT Taiwan
ACE is exploring collaboration with the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT) in three areas:
- Joint research and publication on quality assurance systems.
- Development of micro-credential accreditation to support flexible and skills-based learning.
- Exchange of assessors to increase capacity and international perspectives in the accreditation process.
The Importance of Technology Integration in Accreditation
This conference highlighted the urgency of adopting digital technologies, especially AI, in the accreditation process. Discussions raised the importance of real-time data-driven evaluation systems, the use of algorithms for institutional quality analysis, and digital platforms that enhance transparency and accountability.
Impacts for Indonesia
ACE’s participation in this prestigious forum is expected to strengthen Indonesia’s position as an active player in global education quality assurance. The Islamic countries consortium initiative also has the potential to open up opportunities for educational cooperation between member countries, while collaboration with HEEACT can increase the credibility and competitiveness of Indonesian educational institutions in the international arena.
