Head of LL-Dikti III Jakarta, Prof. Toni Toharudin: Commendation for LAMDIK’s Performance in Ensuring the Quality of Education Programs

The Head of the Regional Higher Education Service Institution (LL-Dikti) for Region III Jakarta, who also serves as the Acting Head of the Agency for Standards, Curriculum, and Educational Assessment (BSKAP) at the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education of Indonesia, Prof. Toni Toharudin, emphasized the crucial role of quality assurance bodies in maintaining and enhancing higher education standards during his keynote speech at the LAMDIK Assessor Strengthening Workshop.

Prof. Toni underscored that quality assurance bodies are essential organizational components for upholding academic excellence and continuous improvement in higher education institutions. He further highlighted that in order to institutionalize a culture of quality, higher education institutions must allocate sufficient budgetary resources to their quality assurance units. He also pointed out that education programs accredited by LAMDIK serve as key drivers for enhancing national education quality, both in horizontal and vertical dimensions. Therefore, Internal Quality Auditors (AMI) at universities must be empowered and supported by institutional leadership, as the quality of a university is largely determined by the effectiveness of its quality assurance unit, he asserted.

At the same event, the Chairman of LAMDIK, Prof. Muchlas Samani, delivered an opening address, providing general guidance for assessors. He emphasized the importance of continuously updating their academic knowledge, staying informed about educational policies, and keeping track of global education trends. This initiative is crucial to ensure that assessors conduct evaluations comprehensively and contextually, while also recognizing the unique characteristics of each program under review.
