
ACE Accredits Department of English Language and Literature at The Uzbekistan State World Languages University (UzSWLU)

The Department of English Language and Literature at The Uzbekistan State World Languages University (UzSWLU) has officially completed a successful accreditation process conducted by the Accreditation Council for Education (ACE). After passing the document evaluation, ACE declared that the department was eligible for onsite assessment, which took place over two intensive days on 2-3 June 2025.

The ACE team consisted of assessors, local experts, and international division divisions as follows:
- Prof. Dr. sc.agr. Yuni Sri Rahayu – Assessor Coordinator
- Mustofa, Ph.D – International Partnership Division
- Sintia Christiani Saeh – Local Expert
- Prof. Dr. Joko Nurkamto – Assessor 1
- Prof. Dr. Yazid Basthomi – Assessor 2
Day 1: Opening and Strategic Meeting

The assessment began with an opening ceremony, where the ACE team was warmly welcomed by important UzSWLU officials:
- Ibragimov Nuriddin Talibovich – Head of the Academic and Methodology Administration Office
- Dr. Guli Ismoil Ergasheva – Dean of the First Faculty of English and Assistant Lecturer of Practical English
- Gulyamova Mavluda – Head of the Department of English Language and Literature
- Galiyeva Margarita Rafaelovna – Head of the Accreditation Programme
- Dr. Lochin Rustamovich Zaripov – Head of the Department of Education Quality Control
- Faculty Members Team
This was followed by in-depth sessions with university leaders, lecturers, and departments to present institutional data, academic programmes, curriculum design, lecturer achievements, strategic plans, and so forth.
Day 2: Student Participation and Academic Observation

On the second day, the assessment team conducted interviews with students to gain insights into their academic experiences, learning environment, and student support systems. This was followed by classroom observations, allowing the ACE team to evaluate teaching methods, student engagement, and learning outcomes in real time.
The ACE team appreciated the department’s dedication to academic quality and international standards. The evaluation process aims to ensure that the department meets the criteria for academic excellence, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
Prof. Dr. Yuni Sri Rahayu, as the coordinator of assessor, noted, “The commitment of the faculty and leadership at UzSWLU is commendable. We observed a strong culture of quality assurance and a willingness to align with global standards in higher education.”
The final accreditation decision will be announced after the detailed report and validation process by ACE. If the department successfully obtains accreditation, this will mark an important milestone in enhancing the university’s academic reputation globally, particularly in the field of English Language and Literature.
This process reaffirms UzSWLU’s commitment to excellence, international collaboration, and the development of language education in the region.
