Towards Accreditation Instrument 2.0
“The purpose of accreditation is not ranking, but a Quality Culture,” is a phrase frequently conveyed by Prof. Dr. Muchlas Samani, M.Pd., the Chairman of LAMDIK. This statement is brief yet its implementation is not easy. One of the main foundations to achieve this goal is having relevant and credible accreditation instruments. However, the question remains: how can we create a relevant instrument in an era of rapid and massive disruption or change?

LAMDIK continuously conducts evaluations and developments, one of which focuses on accreditation instruments and how LAMDIK actively contributes to the development of education in Indonesia. Based on this, from November 30 to December 1, 2022, LAMDIK held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the Future Direction of Higher Education and Relevant Accreditation Instruments.
The event was held in person at the Century Hotel Jakarta. It was attended by the LAMDIK Board of Directors, Directors, Divisions, staff, and the following resource persons:
- Prof. Dr. Ir. K.H. Mohammad Nuh, DEA. (Minister of National Education 2009-2014)
- Prof. Drs. H. Ganefri, M.Pd., Ph.D. (Chairman of the LAMDIK Advisory Board)
- Prof. Intan Ahmad, Ph.D. (Director General of Learning and Student Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Culture 2015)
- Bahrul Hayat, Ph.D. (Secretary General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, 2006-2014), and
- Several LAMDIK assessors.
Many important points were discussed during the meeting, such as the statement by Prof. Intan Ahmad, Ph.D., regarding the gap between curriculum alignment and field needs. How can graduates of a higher education institution in 2022 study for four years with outdated or irrelevant materials? Relevance was also highlighted in the accreditation instruments by Prof. Dr. Muslimin Ibrahim, M.Pd., in the era of online learning. Is the student-teacher ratio still relevant? These notes have become the foundation for LAMDIK to develop Accreditation Instrument 2.0, which will begin development and implementation at the beginning of 2023.
