DIRECTOR GENERAL OF HIGHER EDUCATION, RESEARCH, AND TECHNOLOGY APPRECIATES LAM’S PERFORMANCE IN BUILDING A CULTURE OF QUALITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM

As part of the strategic partner of the Directorate General of Higher Education and Research and Technology, Ministry of Education and Culture, Research, Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology, Prof. Abdul Haris, gave his highest appreciation for LAM’s performance and achievements so far in building a culture of quality and improving the quality of study programs in universities, especially in Indonesia. The number of universities in Indonesia currently reaches more than 4,356, with the number of study programs reaching more than 32,592 study programs. Of this number of study programs, more than 18% have not been accredited and 1% have not been accredited. Therefore, the presence of LAM is very important and very strategic in helping to improve the culture of quality and accreditation rankings in the more than 32,592. This is an important message as conveyed by the Director General of Higher Education, Prof. Abadul Haris to the management and Fokom of LAM Indonesia in Jakarta some time ago.

All LAMs are also encouraged to process and fulfill all the criteria as LAI (International Accreditation Institution) which will not only be an external quality assurance for study programs in a number of universities in Indonesia. However, it is hoped that in the near and fast future it will become an LAI with an international reputation. Therefore, support and cooperation from many parties are needed, especially to improve the quality and reputation of the management and development of these study programs in the midst of the VUCA era as the era of global computing.

Therefore, the presence of LAM is very meaningful. Becoming a strategic partner of the government to assist, improve, and develop study programs in all universities in Indonesia and its presence at the world level. The recognition of LAM Indonesia at the international level is important because it will become a quality assurance institution from Indonesia that can be recognized at the world level.
